1. Introduction

Welcome to KisanSeva

KisanSeva ("us", "we", or "our") operates https://kisanseva.app (hereinafter referred to as "Service").

Our Privacy Policy governs your use of the KisanSeva mobile application and website, and explains how we collect, safeguard and disclose information that results from your use of our Service.

We use your data to provide and improve Service. By using Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, the terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

Our Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all use of our Service and together with the Privacy Policy constitutes your agreement with us ("agreement").

2. Definitions

SERVICE means the KisanSeva mobile application and https://kisanseva.app website operated by KisanSeva.

PERSONAL DATA means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).

USAGE DATA is data collected automatically either generated by the use of Service or from Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

COOKIES are small files stored on your device (computer or mobile device).

DATA CONTROLLER means a natural or legal person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are, or are to be, processed. For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, we are a Data Controller of your data.

DATA PROCESSORS (OR SERVICE PROVIDERS) means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller. We may use the services of various Service Providers in order to process your data more effectively.

DATA SUBJECT is any living individual who is the subject of Personal Data.

THE USER is the individual using our Service. The User corresponds to the Data Subject, who is the subject of Personal Data.

3. Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

4. Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). This may include:

  • Retailer ID and shop credentials (used for authentication)
  • Mobile phone number (used for OTP-based PIN reset and optional SMS invoice delivery)
  • Business details (GSTIN, license number, district, state)

Aadhaar Number

The KisanSeva app collects the Aadhaar number of fertilizer shop license holders and their customers (farmers). This information is used solely for authentication through the Government of India's DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system, as required for fertilizer sales under government mandate. Aadhaar numbers are transmitted directly to government DBT servers and are not stored by KisanSeva beyond what is necessary for transaction logging.

Biometric / Fingerprint Data

The app facilitates capture of fingerprint biometric data from farmers during sale transactions and from license holders during device registration. This data is captured via certified RD (Registered Device) fingerprint scanners and transmitted directly to government DBT authentication servers. KisanSeva does not store biometric data on its own servers.

Location Data

The app collects the device's GPS location on a one-time basis for shop area registration, as required by the Government DBT system for fertilizer retailers. Location is not continuously tracked and is used solely for this registration purpose.

Usage Data

We may also collect information about how the Service is accessed and used. This may include information such as your device's unique identifiers, operating system, app version, and diagnostic data.

5. Use of Data

KisanSeva uses the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To authenticate users and authorize fertilizer sale transactions through the government DBT system
  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To notify you about changes to our Service
  • To provide customer support
  • To gather analysis to improve our Service
  • To monitor usage and detect technical issues
  • To process subscription payments
  • To fulfill legal obligations as a software platform for government-mandated fertilizer sales

6. Retention of Data

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Transaction records may be retained as required by applicable law and government compliance requirements.

7. Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located in India. All Aadhaar-related data is processed on government servers in accordance with the Aadhaar Act and applicable regulations.

8. Disclosure of Data

We may disclose personal information that we collect, or you provide:

  • Government Systems: Aadhaar, biometric, and transaction data is transmitted to government DBT servers as required by law for fertilizer sales.
  • Disclosure for Law Enforcement: We may disclose Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
  • Service Providers: To contractors and service providers we use to support our business, bound by confidentiality obligations.

9. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. Aadhaar and biometric data is transmitted directly to government-certified servers. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data.

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete the information we have on you
  • Object to our processing of your Personal Data
  • Request restriction of processing of your personal information
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent to process your information

11. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from persons under 18.

12. Service Providers

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymized usage data to help us understand how users interact with the app and improve our Service. This data is anonymized and does not include Aadhaar numbers, biometric data, or PINs. For more information, visit: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Firebase Crashlytics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports to improve app stability. Crash reports may include device information and app state at the time of the crash, but do not include sensitive personal data.

13. Payments

We use Razorpay for subscription payment processing. KisanSeva does not store or collect your payment card details. Payment information is provided directly to Razorpay and is governed by their Privacy Policy: https://razorpay.com/privacy/

Razorpay adheres to PCI-DSS standards for secure payment handling.

14. Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
